⚡️ IMPORTANT - ⚠️ PIN CODE!
Recently, we have received many emails regarding confusion with ⚠️ PIN CODE when using the wallet, and this article discusses how you use the PIN CODE to protect your assets. The importance of using PIN CODE when transferring assets out of the wallet.
What is PIN CODE?
PIN CODE is a series of numbers that serve to create a protective layer in asset transfer operations out of the wallet. The PIN CODE often appears in the transfer interface of banks or frequent payment services, such as e-wallets. It typically consists of a numerical confirmation code, sometimes including characters, ranging from 4 to 6 characters long. Every transaction sending assets out of the wallet requires the sender to enter the PIN CODE. This simple rule serves as an effective protection in case someone other than you is trying to access the wallet unlawfully and steal assets.
WHY does the RUBI Wallet need a PIN CODE?
The RUBI Wallet is an open wallet that is constantly available for convenient regular payments without the need to enter a personal key. The Rubi Wallet is also linked to your RUBI mining account, meaning anyone who accidentally views your phone or opens the RUBI mining app can access your wallet. And without protection by a PIN code, anyone handling your phone can freely transfer assets out of your wallet. Therefore, with a wallet in a constantly open state, requiring a PIN CODE before each transaction is essential.
RUBI Wallet's 4-digit PIN CODE
In the initial versions, to help users familiarize themselves with the wallet, the PIN CODE only consists of 4 digits, making it easy for users to remember and use frequently. However, with only 4 digits, the security effectiveness is not strong enough. If given enough time, attackers can sequentially enter from 0000 to 9999 to find the correct PIN CODE. In future upgraded wallet versions, users have the option of 6 characters including numbers and letters. If you are accustomed to using PIN CODEs and have a higher security awareness, you can choose that advanced option.
Setting up a PIN CODE for your wallet
In the first transaction sending assets out of the wallet, the transfer operation will require a PIN CODE. If you don't have a PIN CODE yet, start creating one for your wallet following these steps: (see image below)
➤ Step 1: Access the wallet and select "wallet settings"
➤ Step 2: In wallet settings, select "Set PIN"
➤ Step 3: Enter a 4-digit PIN code that is easy for you to remember, for frequent use.

⚠️ Attention: RUBI does not provide support if you forget your PIN code, so remember it carefully.
Using the PIN CODE
Every time you transfer funds out of the wallet, you need to enter the PIN CODE as a final confirmation step to complete the outgoing transaction. The PIN CODE is a final protective layer before assets are transferred out of the wallet. Although this is a simple password, it has a significant meaning in protecting your assets from theft.
The PIN Code is also used when you perform important wallet settings operations, such as changing payment limits or changing the PIN Code itself.
When you need to change the PIN code, you can access wallet settings, and you need to enter the current PIN Code to allow you to access the option to change the PIN Code.

CONCLUSION:
PIN CODE is a simple, practical, yet strong form of protection to eliminate wallet intrusions and asset theft activities. It also allows users to control and manage all payment activities as a final confirmation step. The PIN Code is especially important for a wallet in a constantly open state like version 1.0 of the RUBI wallet. The PIN code is not supported for recovery, so set an easy-to-remember PIN code for yourself and do not share it with others.
