⚡︎ KYC Message - From Andy
I am Andy - the initiator of this humble project! And this is my message about KYC!

Recently, I and my colleagues have resumed work after Vietnam's traditional holiday season, with a significant backlog of work that needs prioritizing, hence my reduced presence in community groups.

Over the past few days, I have spent time reading comments from the mining community, and I have noticed that most of the content focuses on KYC. Many people are eager to reopen KYC to transfer the mined Rubi to their wallets, and I am quite surprised that hardly anyone asks what Rubi is born for and used for.

Dear miners, I would like to say that you are placing your attention in the wrong place. If you wish for this RUBI asset to truly change your financial destiny, then the question you should be concerned about is "how far have we progressed in building the Rubi protocol and blockchain?"

However! With 80% of questions related to KYC, today Andy is here only to answer about KYC.

Firstly, I would like to reiterate that the recent KYC activity has just undergone a short rollout (which we call Global KYC 1.1), which ended at the end of October 2023, just 4 months ago. In that KYC 1.1 phase, we achieved two goals: creating equality in rules and collecting ID samples from about 70 countries, used as the basis for developing a comprehensive KYC version that we call KYC 2.0.

So I will talk about KYC, KYC 2.0, and answer some important questions quickly.

Is KYC 2.0 about to be released?

KYC 2.0 is currently not yet completed, as it requires many underlying functions to be deployed first, including decentralization, automatic payment mechanisms, testing, and the Mana-A swap mechanism to pay fees to validators. Therefore, to complete KYC 2.0, it is not just the KYC module, but we need to complete at least 4 other modules to operate it.

Will KYC take place in the first quarter?

The answer is "it depends on the urgency of the request from the community; we will provide full information about KYC and create a public vote." If the result is that KYC needs to be opened, we will open KYC even though it is not KYC 2.0.

Here is the schedule & votting plan for this!

Schedule
On March 20th, we will have a detailed article about the KYC content, officially posted on the Rubi app. In the article, we will provide a full introduction to KYC 2.0 and what has been achieved. Additionally, we will briefly outline a KYC 1.5 version, which we temporarily call the "Transition version" or you can call it "plan B version"

Voting
Right after the information, in 48h we will conduct a community poll through public voting. The voting results will decide whether KYC 1.5 (plan B) will take place immediately after the end of March or wait for KYC 2.0 to be completed; the decision is yours.

Whether it's any version of KYC, our ultimate goal is to "prevent fraud," and we call for the solidarity and joint effort of the mining community to eliminate cheating accounts if discovered.

What do you need to know before KYC?

Complete ownership information:

You need to complete ownership information before submitting a request more than 60 days in advance, and you also need to complete mining for at least 20 sessions.

KYC verified by a human:

Due to the diversity of passports or IDs from many countries, we conducted limited testing and found that humans are effective in verifying users and detecting fraud. Therefore, KYC with human verification is selected to ensure results.

You need to prepare a small fee:

Because KYC is a service performed by a trained verifier, to receive service, you need to donate a small amount of resources you have earned on the network for each KYC request. This also helps us limit fake accounts.

⚡︎ Message from Andy Nguyen

❛❛ Although KYC requirements by the majority are a legitimate request, I want to emphasize that we are building a blockchain project, not a KYC-focused project. So once again, I hope the mining community will wisely focus on core issues such as wallet security, blockchain processes, or decentralized characteristics.

Remember in trust! KYC does not guarantee you to get a valuable asset, it is the success of the blockchain that guarantees it! ❛❛
